This website www.vroegepsychose.nl aims to inform people about ‘early psychosis’.

It addresses (mainly young) people suffering from the early signs of psychosis who are looking for help. The site is meant for them and their families as well as for professionals (psychiatrists, nurses, GP’s etc).

The website is created by the Dutch Early Psychosis Network.

The Dutch Early Psychosis Network is meant for psychiatrists who are professionals in care giving and/or research concerning (mainly young) patients with an early psychosis and schizophrenia. This independent Network was founded in 1998. At this moment it consists of 60 psychiatrists.

The network has the following aim:
The exchange of expertise and knowledge in the field of care giving, research and care management with regard to young people who suffer from an early psychosis or schizophrenia. Once a year a ‘Masterclass’ is being organised meant for exchanging expertise internationally;
The initiative of this network is based on the Early Psychosis Training Pack. This pack is developed by prof. P.D. McGorry, MD, director of the Early Psychosis Prevention and Intervention Centre (EPPIC) and professor of psychiatry in Australia. The pack is known as the ’state of the art’ in the Netherlands.

The initiative of the Dutch Early Psychosis Network is adapted by Janssen-Cilag B.V. who gives an ‘unrestricted educational grant’ to organise the Masterclass and facilitate the website.

On this site you will find information about the issue ‘early psychosis’.
